Galmet Industrial Primer is designed for clean or freshly prepared steel, acting as a zinc phosphate barrier primer that provides strong adhesion and long-term corrosion protection. It’s ideal for fabrication and workshop use.
If you’re working with lightly rusted or weathered steel, use Galmet Keytite Steel Primer instead. It’s formulated to penetrate and stabilise light rust before topcoating with Galmet RustPaint.
Can I use it with other Galmet products?
Yes. Galmet Keytite Steel Primer is commonly used as the base coat beneath Galmet RustPaint or Galmet DuraGal Silver as part of the Galmet Metal Protection System.
Can I use Galmet Keytite Steel Primer on galvanised steel?
For galvanised, aluminium, or other non-ferrous metals, use Galmet Keytite Etch Primer instead. Keytite Steel Primer is formulated specifically for clean, bare steel.
